7 Worlds Collide once more and nearly blow my mind!

The Sun Came Out

The Sun Came Out

I’m not going to lie, when I learned that Neil Finn collaborated with KT Tunstall on an album I had a rush that I can’t even begin to compare with anything. Ok, even though it turns out that the collaboration amounted to a mere two songs, Crowded house is one of my all-time favorites and KT Tunstall has my complete adoration ever since I heard Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. Sadly, and I’m partially to blame for setting such high hopes, the actual album’s music did not move me as I expected. Girl Make You Mind and Little by Little stood out on the first listen but Tunstall’s contributions did not impress. When I did some research and found that Neil Finn did not actually write most of the material I calmed down. With that in mind and running the album over a couple times more I began to quite enjoy it. Looking forward to getting my hands on the full 2cd set to see what it has to offer!

Is it me or does the track You Never Know feel like a George Harrison tune, even featuring his My Sweet Lord descending chord lick complete with signature sound on the solo.

Popdose reports that Neil intends to release another Crowded House album by the end of the year. Needless to say, I’m all ears!
