Toy Story 3D – Subtle is Good.

Drove four hours to see the Toy Story double feature in 3D and while I was not blown away, I was glad to have seen it. It make sense why they put two movie on the same billing; the improvements where subtle 90% of the time. But when you do notice, it really adds that little touch that makes the movie all the more beautiful. This is my first time seeing a 3D film in years and I will admit I was expecting more razzle dazzle. However, I did think that the the trailer for the Christmas Carol 3D was over the top. Toy Story was subtle with it’s 3D and subtle is good. The only thing I can complain about is that I felt that the more fast paced action tended to look interlaced. Maybe that was just the fault of the IMAX movie theater I was at?
I was surprised how well Toy Story 1 played on the big screen, 14 years after it’s release. There was no visible/jarring differences between the characters from one movie to the sequel when watching back to back. Both movies remain two of the greatest movies ever created, period. Pixar itself has yet to top them.
After doing a little research on the internet, I’m glad to find that we appear all unanimous on one thing; Go watch Toy Story 3D Double Feature!

Excited to see Toy Story 3 from the trailer previews. Despite recent Pixar poor attempts (Nemo, Incredibles, UP) I’m still staying positive on this one.
